High School Systems

Hamilton High School Mission Statement:

The mission of Hamilton High School is to educate the students of the community so that they are best prepared to succeed in their chosen paths in life. We recognize that attention to intellectual, democratic, moral, spiritual, and social values are basic to satisfying the needs of the individual and his society.

Colleges and Universities

Located within a 1 to 2 hour drive are 8-colleges with student population of more than 12,000 students with 4 offering 4-year degrees. Bevill State Community College in Hamilton provides college degree courses with a concentration on skills and technical training. This college works closely with area industries to provide customized training for employees. The following courses are an example of what is taught in the Industrial Electronics field: DC Fundamentals, AC Fundamentals, Solid State Devices, Electronic Circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers, Industrial Instrumentation, Industrial Robotics, PC Repair, Semiconductor Electronic Circuits II, Digital Electronics, PC Software Installation, Microprocessors, Industrial Electronics, AC/DC Machinery and Controls, Advanced Industrial Controls, and Electro Optics.

Also this college has a program in "Computer Repair and Networking." This program covers the basics of electronics as it relates to computers. The student in this program also completes computer science classes that include "Cisco Networking" known as CCNA certification preparation classes.

Both of these programs lead to an Associates Degree in Applied Electronics Technology and take approximately two years. Courses in Math, Science, English, Humanities, and Speech are included in the curriculum.
